Transmission problem?? 1999 Toyota Camry AUTOMATIC?
1999 toyota camry automatic
When I go to brake I here very loud knocking sounds coming front both sides of the front end by the wheels (really loud sounds like they are going to fall off)
When I jack up the car I dont see any thing that looks out off the ordinary (nothing is loose are anything)
When I jack it up and the car is in park, car is turned OFF, I can spin the wheels freely
jack and muscle that tire to check rod ends. turn the wheel/tire, as if your moving, back and forth to hear the cv joints. remove tire and inspect brakes.
My '94 Camry had this problem (well, similar) and it turned out to be a problem with my brakes. I'm not a car expert, but having had this problem, I suggest you get a licensed mechanic to inspect it. I ended up saving my car from some MAJOR problems by getting it fixed early. Hope this helps!!!
