Brake pads for Toyota Corolla?

Default Brake pads for Toyota Corolla?
I have a 2009 Toyota Corolla with 31,000 miles on it. The brakes have been sporadically making a gravely sound for a few months. I had it checked out by my Toyota dealership today and they said the front brake pads are at 25% and it would cost $269 to fix them. I don't have the money right now, so didn't get them fixed. My two questions are 1. Is that an average price to have them fixed?, and 2. how long can I wait to get them fixed if they are at 25%? Thank you.

Could you borrow the money from someone? The longer you wait, the more they are going to cost. Right now they are probably thinking you just need new brake pads. I am no expert, not by a long shot, but the earlier you get your brakes fixed, the less they are going to cost. I think I might have waited too long and they costed me $399.89. I too have a 2009 Toyota Corolla. But, I do know that Dealerships do charge more. Have you taken it in for a look to any other places?

get somebody else to look at them - at 25 % they shouldn't make a gravely sound.















I just did 200 000 k on the original set of pads.

Don't wait! Make a payment plan with the dealership or borrow a bit of money from family or friends. Brakes are too important. Not only do they help prevent a collision with a wall they will also save you from a lawsuit & liability if you hit and injure/kill someone. Talk to them or go to a chain store that does brake work. Most of that fee is labor. Ask if you can buy your own parts elsewhere and they can do the installation. Do what you can but don't ignore your brakes. As for the average price, check online at major retaillers that sell auto parts to compare the prices but don't forget to factor the installation fees. Good luck.
