Has Toyota opened yet since the earthquake?

Well, news is that we ordered a 2011 Prius. Our dealer told us that it would be around mid-May before it was delivered, though I have some people telling me that it will take awhile. So long story short...Did Toyota re-open their plant? I heard that they don't know if it's open, I've heard that it is open, I've heard that they are not taking orders until August...

Whoever answers this, please make sure that it's fact, and not something that you heard from another person. Thanks.

Toyota has had the plant reopened awhile now their slowly increasing production but their not going to be up to regular production levels until Nov or Dec next year so yes their behind in their orders bec they were a good 3 or 4 wks behind before they re-opened the Japan plant and each day their even further behind so add up the months till they reach full production levels and by then they'd be behind even more.

Hope that helps and best of luck.By the way if you made the order before the terrible disaster in Japan then you're probably okay.Also I'am sure that if you called up or contacted their main customer service hotline you'd find out from them what is what.

"Toyota, which halted all plants in Japan after the March 11 quake through today and canceled overtime at U.S. factories, will reopen seven plants in Aichi prefecture tomorrow morning [Mar 17], said Keisuke Kirimoto, a spokesman in Tokyo.

Toyota will keep 21 plants shut until March 22, Paul Nolasco, a spokesman for the carmaker, said by phone today. The company may lose 95,000 units of production, said Shiori Hashimoto, a spokeswoman."
