I think it has to do with the market areas and production numbers of each. The Yaris is produced in large-scale and sold all over the world. The IQ is only available in select countries and is produced in much more limited numbers. It is also a new release derived from a "concept" design. Concept cars are extremely expensive to develop and automakers will try to recoup some of the cost once the car enters production.
