I believe it refers either to the traffic button or the navigation system (when there isn't one). It would have helped if you had indicated what you were pressing when the message appeared.

There are a few of the right-hand buttons in the audio section that expect options like internal GPS. That message means you asked for some option that wasn't there. I forget what the buttons are; I just blindly hit them once in a while and it tells me ever so politely I am a fool.

As said it usually means you pressed a navigation related button and your car doesn't have the nav option, all NHW11 (2001-03) Prius have the nav buttons even if they don't have the option installed.































If it is a button that is supposed to work or used to work then the cables to the MFD, radio, CD, ETC might need to be re-seated.
