A/C Problems Toyota 4 Cyl 22re Engine?

Default A/C Problems Toyota 4 Cyl 22re Engine?
Toyota 92 4 cyl 22re. A/c not working it has the proper charge. Checked fuses there fine the on off button light comes on. A/C compressor never engages I don't think its the compressor what else am i missing?

the compressor clutch is a magnetic device that locks when it gets an electrical signal. See if you get 12 V at clutch wire when everything is "ON" Full cold, fan on, a/c on. If not you are going to have to trace all the wires and switches that turn the compressor "ON". The thermostat in the a/c box might be the culprit. If it is not sending volts to the comp it wont come on. When the a/c is set "cold" it should feed volts thru thermostat. There might be a compressor relay too. Check your fuse/relay box for that. (That's probably the FIRST thing to do). See if V in out of relay.
