Default My 2000 Toyota corolla has started making a grinding sound.?
I have noticed it most when I am going between 30-40mph. Also when breaking from while in 4th gear. When I brake my fluids light flashes on then goes away. It seems to go grind grind grind then stop. It's not a heavy grind like when you don't quite get into gear but it does sound like some rubbing is going on. Any suggestions of what it is?

Yes - brakes worn. the light comes on because the fluid has gone out to the calipers. they extend and take fluid as the pads wear off. If the grinding is not too loud it might just be the squeaker finger on the pads that is contacting. Toyota original pads (and most good aftermarket) have a little "squeaker" that acts like nails on a chalk board (if you are old enough to know what that is). The squeaker should contact the disc when there is about 1-2 mm of pad left. When that happens you are supposed to replace the pads to save the discs from being scored and ruined.
