Did Toyota Avalon xls 1996 get recalled?
I recently just bought a Toyota Avalon xls I think the year is 1996, and we just put new brakes/fixed them on the car. It drove very well for a half hour or so, but once the I started driving it more I noticed it liked to go fast on its own. I had to use my brakes a lot. I didn't have any foot on the gas or brake and it started going over 50. Then, when I was about to park in the garage the brakes stopped to work. Then a few hours later, it ran fine.
Also, when in park/neutral, it'd make some odd noise; thats when you'd have to slam your foot on the gas real quick to get it to stop. So what is wrong? & for more information, the car hasn't been used in a few years because the lady who owned it before got deported and I'm guessing she lived in it. So no one used it until recently and so far on the internet I can't find anything bad about the car.
