Default is the clutch on a 1998 corolla adjustable?
I have 160,000 miles, original clutch. In 3rd gear I seem to get some slippage. I would like to think the clutch is adjustable and I can avoid replacement.

Your clutch disk should have been replaced miles ago, I think. Anyway, try starting to move from stop in your highest gear. If your clutch is still good, your engine should stop as you release the clutch. If not it definitely is slipping.

Not a chance, no it is not adjustable at all and is almost certainly worn out - about £250 at an independent garage or £450 at a Toyota one

the clutch is not adjustable it is slipping because it is worn out, which after such mileage would be normal. so spend the money.
