Default Scion tC remote key fob thingy?
so my parents bought me a 2005 Scion tC , but when they gave me the keys i noticed it was missing the two master keys (the ones that have the remote buttons built into the actual key) and i was only given the one gray key with the scion logo on it. i also read that it was supposed to come with a steel plaque on the key ring so i can go have copies made. i bought this car at a used car dealership, not at a toyota dealership. so i want to know if it is still possible for me to buy these remote keys. if i were to lose this one, i wouldnt be able to use my car anymore. it is also a hassle to have to walk all the way up to my car and turn the key to lock and unlock my car. i havent gone to a toyota dealership yet so idk il go there the next time i service my car i guess. but thank you in advance for the help

The key that you have is called a valet key. It should open the doors and work in the ignition, but if you have a locking drawer (usually under the passenger seat) it would not open that. As for the keys that come with remotes, you are going to be looking at a big pile of money to buy them, and the only place you can get them is at a dealership.

amazingkeys.com has Scion keys. You might check with them.

You have a Valet Key. Key is only used to open doors and start the car. It will not lock the glovebox. But if you were to take it Toyota they can get you a key fob and program it as well and also get the master key for it as well. Its going to cost money but its possible
