My 1987 Toyota Camry doesn't want to go in D, 1 or 2 (automatic transmission)?

Default My 1987 Toyota Camry doesn't want to go in D, 1 or 2 (automatic transmission)?
When I put it in D, it picks up very slow with the gas pedal pressed all the way. I'm thinking it's a bad tranny (slipping transmission?). Same thing in 1 and 2. It doesn't want to go, it accelerates very slowly.

This could be LOTS of things. Last time I had a car acting like that, it was a plugged up catalytic converter, which was caused by the engine misfiring.































Have the car checked out by a mechanic. (a REAL mechanic, not the know-it-all neighbor or clem, the shade tree mechanic that fixes cars in his back yard)
