If the A/C line is frosted as you say, the dripping water IS condensation. The A/C system is activated when you use "defrost" also. This dry, heated air clears the glass faster than non-conditioned air. many systems, like the one in my Honda, have a "auto" system, where you set the temp and the system maintains that set temp. by turning on air or heat as needed
What I don't like about the automatic system is, the A/C compressor stays on almost all the time, which slightly reduces MPG and puts unnecessary wear on the system.
