Default Toyota Camry mechanics or tech , It this how a Toyota purpose to run? IDK my first time
driving a Toyota? Why it my car slowing down in getting faster by itself like (engine surge) while keeping the gas pedal steady? There is a check engine light code p0420 catalyst converted but I dont think a catalyst converted will not affect the way the car run, Another words the catalyst converted was replaced with a pipe i bough the car like that..... Any suggest ?????































1998 Toyota Camry V6 with 149k,miles















This problem only happen on highways speed it run fine for the first 5 min then this problem occurs

I guess those jerks/surge u are experiencing when driving are a sign of fuel injection problem. Something is blocking ur injector nozzles or something is preventing ur fuel from burning properly. It could be caused by the presence of tiny dirt particles or water in your fuel system or as a result of bad fuel.















I'm not a mechanic, I'm only speaking from personal experience. I'll advice u to visit ur toyota mechanic for better diagnosis.

not having the cat on an OBD2 will not get you the best mileage. they are mostly free flow. and since you have o2 sensors b4 and after it, the ecu can't get correct feed back form any fuel corrections it may need to make.































that aside, since it only happens at speed, and takes time to show, i'm thinking fuel pressure regulator or associated vacuum leak.
