Where can I find the Vehicle Identification Number (V.I.N.) for a Japanese Import 1993 Toyota MR2?

Hey everyone, we live in the UK and recently bought a Japanese Import Toyota MR2, now the problem is my wife and I can not find the V.I.N. number.

We have looked at many sites and threads and every place people have mentioned we have not been able to find it (The hood, the engine, drivers door, etc)

Some people mentioned a plate in the front hood which we found, but it did not contain the V.I.N., the other issue it that a lot of the labels are in japanese so we can't tell what it says -_- (i know i know)

Apparently it is supposed to start with a JT.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

In the front (commonly known as "Frunk") upside down on front panel normally.

With a J prefix, it is a UK VIN number, should start with SW if its an import?

It is number below the long bar code if I recall. You can also check the rear number plate and if its square? (Imported MR2's normally are).Mine was.

F=1985 G=1986 H=1987 J=1988 K=1989 M=1991 N=1992 P=1993 R=1994 S=1995 T=1996 V=1997

W=1998 X=1999 Y=2000 1=2001 2=2002 3=2003 4=2004 5=2005
