1996 Toyota corolla grinding noise?

Default 1996 Toyota corolla grinding noise?
I have a grinding noise only while my car is in reverse.































does this mean my clutch needs to be replaced? bad transmission? Bearings ?































I normally do my own work on the car but don"t want to be replacing the clutch if it has nothing to do with that.

could be a number of things from clutch to bad tranny.















Have someone check it out first before you start dropping money on it

You're going to have to put the car on blocks and probe around listening for where the noise is coming from. If it was the clutch the noise would happen in forward gears as well. Check the oil in the differential.
