get more power out of my '06 WR450F?

Default get more power out of my '06 WR450F?
I bought a '06 WR450F last year brand new out of the box, I was talking to a guy last night he was telling me that I can get more power out of my bike by clipping and unpluging a wire on the emissions box also buy removing somthing from the air box. Is this correct? will this hurt the bike?

I wouldn't mess with the electronics or removing things. Here's what I'd do: Get a UNI 2 stage foam air filter, FMF performance exhaust, and a Dynojet jet kit. These are simple bolt on mods and will perk it up quite a bit.
