it depends on what happened to the old one, if it just has a failed seal but the rest of the system is OK refer to the other answerer but add the labor and other charges (receiver/accumulator drier, oil, refrigerant, etc.) if it seized or stopped pumping for whatever reason there may be shrapnel in the system that will plug orifices or expansion valves and will destroy a new compressor unless a new condenser and possibly suction filter are installed along with a complete flush.
