Default Why does my car (2008 Highlander) alarm go off for no reason?
I got my car brand new in '08, with 14 miles on it. It now has 30,000 miles on it and I've recently been having A LOT of issues with this alarm. It's the standard factory panic alarm, and it keeps going off for no reason. Does anyone know what the heck is wrong with it and what can I do about it?? I'd rather not pay $105 just for the diagnostic testing. Thanks!

there are issues w the hood latch alarm sensor going bad. that is what is triggering your alarm to go off. take it to a dealership for service as long as it's inside 3 years or 36000 miles. otherwise you will have to pay for parts & labor for the repairs.

Hood latch sensor is going bad or not positioned right.















Might need to reposition or get new hood latch sensor

you shouldn't have to pay for diag. it should still be under warranty.
