Default How do you reset the check engine light on a 2005 toyota corolla s?
needed an oil change. It's done. Light still on. How do I reset it?

Most vehicles reset by turning on the ignition switch( not starting the car), let it go through it's checks about 5 seconds, then press the gas pedal to the floor 3 to 5 times real quick, turn switch back off. wait 5 seconds, then start the car as you normally do, the light should go off. If it doesn't go off, then you've got something wrong with the car. A sensor is malfunctioning or throwing a code.

Is this an oil change light or a CHECK ENGINE light ?

If it is the check engine light that indicates a fault, and one not related to oil condition. The light has to be reset through the OBDII system using a code reader, after reading the codes to determine why the light is on. Some codes will come back immediately, some after a while, some were transient and don't come back at all.
