engine management has many components. we could guess at the issue. prolly narrow it down a bit. TPS/VSS/EGR/air filter/fuel issues and so on........ you don't wanna chase all that individually.
but being that this is an '00 vehicle, it's so much easier to pull codes. likely this issue did prompt a trouble code.
just keep in mind that a trouble codes pointing to a sensor, don't *necessarily* mean the sensor itself is the issue. the components the sensors monitor are in Q as well.

i went with the 1.8. to nav from that page, you need to sign up, plug in vehicle info, and go to "repair info".
