The PCV valve has probably been in there for many years so the heat/cold etc would of affected it but they use a product on the threads on the PCV valve so that the valve won't leak or move due to vibrations/heat etc.Best thing to do make sure to disconnected anything that may attache to the valve like a hose etc, then you can try a open ended wrench or wrench that will slide over it or try to get a socket that will slide right over the sensor and fits the PCV valve.
Hope that helps and best of luck.By the way you'll need a tool that fits the valve perfectly and even upwards turn.Note it matters where on the valve you grab a hold of with the tool and where what position you place the wrench or ratchet in.Example you want the wrench or socket to be able to move from the best hand torque positions. Those will usually come out just need the right tools and torque when removing them.
