Regarding the reliability, maintenance, smooth driving, acceleration and safety, which one is better.

toyota sucks but if you get one get the 6 cylinder because the 4 cylinder will have such a slow pickup that even if ur not looking for that it will bore you.

The four cylinder has plenty of power for most people (especially those who buy Camrys) - try driving that first, and only go with the V6 if you really feel you need the extra power.































The four-cylinder should definitely have the edge in reliability and maintenance - there are fewer parts to break and replace, and unlike the V6, hasn't had problems with this generation. As far as safety goes, they're both equally safe. And, although the V6 will be quicker and smoother, it shouldn't be enough to justify the cost premium.

I would also choose the 4-cylinder. It's a fairly large-displacement engine and with 16-valves and variable valve timing, it produces quite a bit of power. I don't believe the power difference between the 4 and v6 is very significant. The 4-cylinder delivers good fuel economy and is easier to maintain than a v6. It also costs less to purchase. I've ridden in a recent 4-cylinder Camry and was really surprised by how responsive it is. My sister drives a 4-cylinder Accord that is also impressively powerful. I see no reason to choose a v6 in these cars.
