respectfully,
good luck with that.
you'll be making an intake from scratch. and if you're talking down or side draft slide carbs, well, good luck with that to.

just saying, if you have an issue with the oem carb, you'll be inviting a bigger one. much bigger.
if you're just trying to upgrade via "bolt on" upgrades, here's the way you wanna go,
http://www.redlineweber.com/carb-kits/auto/toyota/
either the 32/36 or the outlaw 38. electric choke is your option.
more "bolt on" upgrades can be found here,
http://www.lcengineering.com/
that's head/cam/header info.
if you have a pre 85 22r short deck block/head you may have issues with some lcengineering products. so it maybe best to communicate with them.
FYI,
most any info and mod or upgrade you wanna do is covered here in alphabetical order,
http://www.pirate4x4.com/forum/showthread.php?t=775780
there's a link to a free toyota factory service manual in pdf there as well.
these upgrades, or the one you wanna try, is not recommended to try if you are a "new to this stuff" mechanic. even the best swap kit for these kinds of apps can be a handful for the experienced.
