the airbag light on the dashboard should not be always on. but in the middle yes.
in the center, where it displays the time, there's another airbag ON light, that light will always be on if you have passengers. The driver airbag on steering wheel, and knee airbag along with the curtain airbag (near the driver side) will be on as default. But the other airbags and curtain side airbags (passengers) will only activate if the vehicle senses there are two or more passengers.
If your airbag light on the dashboard is lit, go to the dealers and have it checked!
