Default Celica dies out on take off.?
Yesterday I was about to take off and the car just sat there.Putting in the clutch would bring it back to life.It would not completely shut off.It just bogged out and sat there.Toyota says its probably in the v v t i or v v t l .They say throw away that motor and get a plain GT. This has happened several times in the last few months.It never shuts down.The car just has 94,000 miles on it.What gives?















First of all I was told to dump the motor by a tech at TOYOTA.Second of all I dont appreciate being called a liar.

Is this real? All Toyotas use VVTi and if you have a GT-S Celica, understand that the GT has VVTi as well. Toyota's VVT is variable valve timing which Honda markets as VTEC. They rarely have issues. You need it checked out by a mechanic. I can tell you haven't since the person who told you this said that it is "probably" the VVTi. A bad ignition could cause this or a bad ignitor. Does the car need a tuneup? I believe that Toyota says 100,000 miles between tune ups but if the car has been driven hard, it could need it earlier.

Hey you dip stick first of all Toyota wouldnt tell you to















throw away your engine that was just a lie you told and















second the GT has VVT-i as well and the GTS. Geez















why dont you get a life or do your research if your going















to bash Toyota. Atleast talk like you know what your

judging by your story, sound like your clutch is dead?















vvti? the motor? lol















did they mean the vvti cam gear? it could be and there is a service free of charge (toyota defects fix). depending on the dealership, they will notify you or not of this problem. they might be greedy and want you to pay for the job instead of giving free work. its also a risky job because if the tech screw up, that motor will be dead for sure. bend valves/pistons































check in with other dealership
