Default How do I turn cruise control on for Toyota Hilux jap import?
Hello, I just bought a beautiful Toyota Hilux m registration. It is Japanese import and I'm driving it back home. It should have cruise control but I can't figure out how to turn it on and most of the writing is in Japanese.















Can anybody help?

John L, you're not really answering my question... explanations on how you turn your cruise control on would do very nicely















Ryd: oh I love it, I just picked it up yesterday from Swansea in Wales and drove back home in Somerset which would take normally a couple of hours I think, except that I missed my junction and didn't realize I was driving to London until quite late, so I had a couple of hours of extra driving, which would normally annoy me but in this case I didn't mind too much enjoying our new car. It's the first time we have an automatic, and I wish we could figure out how to use cruise control yesterday to try it on the motorway. Anyway, I'll try your suggestions and see if they work on the hilux

Depends on the year. I have two Toyotas 2004 and 2008 and both have the same stalk controls, which I find are very easy to use and the cruise works really nicely.

well if it is anything like the US counterpart, the Tacoma, the cruise control is a lever/toggle that come out of the steering column. To turn it on, there is a button on the tip of it. Once on, you push the lever up to accelerate/set acc. (speed). To coast, you push the lever down, and when you release, the vehicle goes back up to the set speed. To cancel the set speed, you pull the lever back toward you.































I hope that helps, but in all honesty, I have never seen a Hilux. Do you like it so far?

The Toyota cruise control kits will forget the previously set speed if you
drop below 25 (or 24) mph. If you never drop below this speed and
never turn off the cruise control (as indicated by the dash light, if
equipped), then you will be able to hit the resume button.
