I have a very strong gas smell from my 1984 Toyota Cressida?

Default I have a very strong gas smell from my 1984 Toyota Cressida?
This seems to be worse as it gets hotter in the day, do not see any leaks, looking for ideas that I can check out or common problems with this model causing this, thanks

Your going to want to check around your gas tank and fuel filler neck. Sometimes you wont see a leak on the ground because it will just leak a bit around the tank or so. Also make sure any fuel lines under the hood aren't leaking at all.

Geez... an 84 Toyo Caressida you say ....?































It's got a carburetor so, also keep in mind that it could be that little beastie causing the gas smell.































Carbs are pretty touchy, finicky things to deal with and you got one that's almost 30 years old and ( unless I'm mistaken) It's been a long time since it's been rebuilt.















I'm not saying that it IS your problem; I'm saying that; the combination of hot weather, a carb and strong gas smells are pretty common.
