What does the VSC Off (light) and VSC Trac (light) mean on my toyota 4 runner?

Default What does the VSC Off (light) and VSC Trac (light) mean on my toyota 4 runner?
the VSC OFF light and the VSC TRAC light is on ands is the check engine light they all came on at the same time. what does it mean and what do I do?

VSC will stand for vehicle stability control (or similar), and "trac" is short for traction contol. It's likely a wheel sensor is dirty or faulty, and that's possibly why the check engine light is on too, although it may be something else wrong. Get it to a decent garage so they can plug it in and tell you what's wrong.

Sounds like you may need to bring it in to the dealer to get your computer reset. There should be a button on your left that says VSC, but I'm just guessing on a 4runner.. Try holding down the button for a few seconds as this enables/disables VSC. Maybe try getting on some dirt and putting it into 4-wheel drive and then try putting it back into 2wd...































If that doesn't work, consult your Toyota 4Runner manual. It should explain all dash light indications.































Or take it to the stealership and pay 'em to reset it.
