03 Camry serpintine belt?

Default 03 Camry serpintine belt?
I had the belt replaced. Call me picky but the belt seems very tight to me. Does this vehicle have a self adjuster or is it adjustable. Four cyl. Auto. Can someone tell me where the adjustment is and the best way to get at it. I know that the biggest cause of water pump failure is too tight belts. Thanks

no adjusting on theses motors,,you have a belt tensioner that you pull back,install the new and let go ,it gives the proper tension,i really doubt its stuck too tight,they can seize up too loose but not too tight,i dont belive you have a issue,is there any noises?i wouldnt worry about it,

Ditto these belts dont have manual adjustments any more















belt tensioner does all the work now. It may seem that its















on to tight but it really isnt.

Flat v-groove belts, including serpentine belts, should be much tighter than old V-belts. The way to confidence test a flat belt is to grab it with your fingers in the middle of the longest run and twist it. You should be able to barely twist it 90 degrees. Before I got a tension gauge for flat belts I tightened them as much as I thought right, and when I checked them with a gauge every one of them was half the specified tightness.
