Default I own a 2010 silver Toyota corolla. I just got the car for the repair shop the other day for a...
...repair? The car had a big dent on the right side rear door and it was repaired with a repaint. I just noticed that the paint on the repair side has a different color compared to the rear bumper. It's like the paint they put was gray vs. the silver portion of the bumper. I checked the other side of the car and the color between the body and rear bumper has the same color. There is no distinction. In addition, I can see the the spray pattern on the door that really annoys me. I am aware of the metal vs. bumper color but I still went to the body shop and told me that they will send me to a detail body shop. Is it a good idea? I am not really satisfied on what they did.

Seems like the paint isn't a perfect match for the car. I would take it back, and see what can be done, especially if you paid a lot of money for the repair. Did the Toyota dealership body shop do the work? If so the should have better access to toyota factory paints and codes. Body shops don't all use the same brand paint as the manufacturer and that could cause issues as well. I had a dent in the side of my s2000 and had it repaired at a very inexpensive shop. The car was silver which is a very difficult color to match, i got what i paid for though. It bothered me so much i just got rid of the car. Obviously this isn't an option for you.
