2011 Toyota Yaris requires 91 OCTANE gas?

Default 2011 Toyota Yaris requires 91 OCTANE gas?
I've been looking at this car at a dealership and they said that engine requires 91 octane... but I've been using regular 87 octane unleaded gas on my 2001 Lexus RX and it's still running fine, so why does this economical car require premium gas?















it's the sedan automatic

i highly doubt it REQUIRES it it might just be for best efficiency

Who is "they" ??? Look in the owners manual for the required octane rating

It doesn't matter whether it's an economy car, or not.































If the engine is a high compression engine, it requires higher octane.































And just because it's currently running fine, doesn't mean a thing. You ARE damaging the engine by running a lower octane.































But whatever. Ruin your car if you want.

No, the 2011 Yaris runs on regular gas (87 Octane). The only non-performance compact car I know of that requires premium (91+ Octane) is the Smart Car.

it does NOT require anything over 87. Someone was probably trying to steer you away from that car and sell you a much more expensive car.































I have experienced this BS when WE were shopping for a Yaris. The thief (also known as sales person)















actually tried to tell me that a Yaris is unstable on the freeway.































I said "that's strange. my neighbor has one and drives it all over the state daily, and he LOVES the car"































LYING SOB































This was at Garden Grove Toyota, also known as Toyota Place in Garden Grove California if anyone cares

im sure it doesn't REQUIRE 91 octane, but it will run better and your engine will last longer on 91 octane.































but dont worry if you put 89 in.
