most all kits are good. skyjacker, tuffcounrty, rancho, even JC whitney!
it's a matter of what you choose. some are not "full" kits. like no shocks. read the descriptions. bracket (shackle) lift instead of a block lift in the rear is the way to go. keeps the rear end closer to the springs. less axle wrap. purdy much all *full* kits are plug and play save the (suggest 4 wheel) alignment needed after install.
doubt you can get it all done for 1000 bucks. kits alone are right around that. then you have to increase your foot print to be stable. no one likes being a turtle. 4" lift will allow for 32"-33" total wheel/tire radius. no brake upgrades are needed at this height/wheel/tire size. speedo will read bout 5 mph slow at 50 mph. 50 will actually be 55.
