88K is not bad at all for a 2000 Celica.
But you got to keep in mind that who ever had
this car before you have no idea when oil changes
were done, maintenance, how the car was driven.
You need to give it a good test drive dont be scared
if the owner goes with you. Floor it from a stop and
redline it and pull to second and make sure you dont
hear funky noises, knocking, scraping dont think of
it as a joy ride and let the owner know what your going
to do. Toyota Reliability can only go so far unless the
car is taken care of. But if the car is running great and
you dont notice anything abnormal then you should be
ok. With only 88K mileage I am pretty sure you wont
have any problems. Also if its a manual make sure the
clutch is not slipping and that all gears go in smoothly.
If your getting grinding when pushing the clutch all the
way and shifting gears theres something wrong.
