Toyota Supra Or Supra TT?

i'm 17 and own a 94 non-turbo supra and i was wondering which engine can you get more horsepower out of the Non-turbo engine (with single turbo etc) or the Twin turbo etc. a mechanic friend of mine says they would produce the around same and better to go with single turbo so less turbo lag and stuff

thx for any help its been bugging me for a while and i want some other opinions

I dint think that old engine can with stand excess power. Better get professional opine.

your 94 supra has came in both naturally aspirated and twin turbo versions. The twin turbo was by far the more powerful and had the most support by the aftermarket. The internals on the engine are made stronger to handle the extra power output and it typically had a 6 speed gear box. Rent the movie Fast and ferrous one and you will get the idea.

A couple of years ago I was scouting through the local JDM (Japan Domestic Market) wholesale warehouse and did see several twin turbo engines for sale with complete wiring harnesses attached. The price might scare you though.

It would be cheaper to go with the single turbo because

they really do make around the same horsepower as the

twin turbos do. But going single turbo you might want to

slap on a pretty big turbo. Dont let it scare you it can be

done but its also going to cost more then you think

My opinion of the 93-98 supra is that I like to own one. Although I dont own a garage. I see the non turbo, single turbo and TT on ebay. I suggest you do your homework since you own a supra and figure out the financial aspect of changing for horsepower gain. Done correctly a horsepower gain would improve the value of your supra even though it did not come from the factory that way. Example a single or twin turbo conversion is worth quite a bit more than the non turbo depending on the overall condition of the car.
