Default Toyota Prius help please!?
I cannot find my handbook anywhere and my Prius won't start! It is coming up with a red image on the dashboard of a person sitting in the car seat with a big red ball on their lap?! The engine won't turn on, I've tried everything. Do you think it's ran out of battery or something? But why would they show that with a big red ball on a lap??

The indicator you are seeing is the seat belt unfastened warning. If that's all you see, then the small 12V battery isn't providing enough power to do anything else.































To start the Prius press your foot firmly on the brake and press the power button. If that doesn't work, then you've likely discharged the small 12V battery by leaving the door or hatch ajar. It's easy to jump start the Prius. Connect the jumper terminals under the hood to a donor battery and try to start it again.

If that is the symbols it is saying you're brakes have a problem the abs it could be as simple as you're brake pads are low and need to be changed or the sensor is dirty. And second yes I'd say you're battery/s are dead and need to be replaced go to any auto parts store if you can or take the batteries out they can test them for free. Also if that is nit the symbol please take a pic and post it because that is the only pic I have ever seen that is sounding like what you are saying. It might be what you think it looks like a person in a seat with a ball on the lap but when you get told what it really is you will see and then be like awww I see that now. Lol happens alot but any ways hope this helps.

Toyota are not very logical, I would have thought a big ball on your lap might be the airbag, but being Toyota it could be the seat belt warning as someone else suggested, get someone to help and check the battery, but the car is controlled by computer so anything that goes wrong is a problem, I have vowed never to buy another Toyota, I have never driven a good one, always problems with brakes or electrics, I`m happy with my BMW
