is she actually cold? does the carb come off cold start/high idle? if your heater puts out heat but the gauge says it's cold, do check the engine temp sensor.

FYI,
you need a two stage t-stat or you *will* have overheating issues. even if the correct temp single stage t-stat is used, she'll over heat. if it looks like any other t-stat, it's the wrong one.

the 22 block does not have a bypass hose for the heater.
counter ppl just don't get it right in this case. i see this a lot here. they should be able to cross reference that to an after market product.
hopefully a temp sensor and/or correct t-stat is all you need.
