I have a 1972 Landcruiser fj40, Where are the color codes located on it?

For a '72, I'm not sure if there ever was an ID plate with accessory/option codes on it. I think those started with 1976 models.

If you have a general idea what the stock color was, you can try matching it up to the chart here: http://www.cruiserfaq.com/13-00.php

If that's not conclusive, I'd recommend joining the forum at http://forum.ih8mud.com/ and asking in the 40-series section.

there should be an ID plate in the engine compartment - possibly right inner fender area. at the bottom it will say C TR A TM the following codes are for "Color, Trim, Axle, Transmission". the color code will likely be a three digit code starting with 0. the trim code will start with a letter most likely and probably 4 characters.

if you cant find a plate - any competent paint shop can blend paint to match. probably it is faded anyway and the color code wont match the current faded color.
