Default Toyota pick up 4wd ? the 22r ?
Does any one still like there older toyota. Are they good for hunting and in the woods? I have a project one just fixing up wondering what's everyone opion on them.

i second the motion!































the I4 is killer off road. better than the V6 in many areas. lighter, lower center of gravity, and with the gear ratios avail they can put very *similar* torque numbers at the wheels.































only issues with the I4 is if it's an '85 or older short deck. these have t-chain tensioner issues. requiring extra attention. especially with the manual trans where torque is completely released and applied.

They are the best ever, got to yotatech.com They will tell you what its worth and and how to make it better and help in every step of the way. They are really nice.

It's hard to beat the 22r. They just keep running and hardly require anything. They don't have a lot of power output compared with today's engines, but they're just plain reliable, easy to own and satisfying. I sure don't have any plans to replace my '85.































I'm also very fond of the 4wd system. Practically every newer system uses electronic switches and actuators that give me the creeps. I'll keep my lever-operated transfer case and manual locking hubs, thank you.
