Default Question about 1994 Toyota Corolla Overdrive?
I live in the mountains and most of my driving will be in cities and involve a lot of starting and stopping. I understand that turning overdrive off will give me more power, and turning it on will force engine braking. Is it better for me to leave the overdrive on or off during city driving?

All I do is city driving in my old camry. I always leave overdrive on. It saves on fuel.

Leave the O/D on meaning the light on the cluster should















not be illuminating. Saves gas and does not make the engine















work harder. It doesnt give your car a boost of power or anything















like that all it does is prevent you from shifting into 4th gear















which is cruising gear. If you use O/D all it lets you do is















shift from 1,2,3. Only useful when going uphill or passing
