Ciggarette Lighter not working in 94 Toyota Camry XLE?

The first thing I checked was the fuse, but the radio and lighter use the same fuse. The radio has been working but the lighter quit. If it is not the fuse, what else could it be and how would I fix it?

The cigar lighter element may be bad, or the prongs may not be making contact. You could try bending the prongs out a little with a screw driver.

Also, you could try a replacement cigar lighter (knob & element) sold at Pep Boys, but I don't know what kind of quality they are. Try looking online for a replacement.

Edit:

I forgot to mention that you should disconnect the ground cable on the battery before tinkering with the prongs in the cigar lighter.

Don't stick any thing in the socket go stick a knife or screw driver in a socket in the outlet in you're house lol. Even tho it is not enough to shock you in you're car it is enough to fry you're electrical system in you're car by grounding it out and making it have a short. What you need to do is pull the fuse and go buy a can of compressed air or use a air compresser if you have one blow out the socket. Then try ifpt if that does not work then you can go to a auto parts store and buy a new lighter set up there like 8$ and very easy to put in. If you have a volt Meter see if it has anything at all by touching the center with red and outside of the socket with black and use one pronge at a time and scrap the inside (PULL FUSE BEFORE YOU DO THIS) to make a clean spot to test this way using only one if the prongs you can't short any thing out. If that doesn't work then yes it needs to replaced if not the fuse then it is bad connected or it is burnt out. Hope this helps.
