Default Toyota 4Runner Transmission 1988?
I have a Toyota 1988 automatic 4x4 Transmission. The kickdown cable got damaged and was stuck on? (hard shifting). It broke, and now is not hard shifting. The Truck drives better now.















What is the kickdown cable for? And will it damage the transmission?

it physically locates the throttle and kicks the trans down to a lower gear when a predetermined deflection is met. works in tandem with the vacuum modulator.































not connected, it wont damage the trans. but you *may* have trouble being in the right gear when going up hills or passing at times if removed.































having it engaged constantly will cause issues.
