Default 2002 toyota echo with over 100,000 miles on it a good buy?
finding mixed reviews about this car, and am concerned with how safe it is and how it will drive in the snow, and also if it reliable after 100,000 miles I live in Vermont and we experience some pretty heavy winters. They want $4500 for it. Any thoughts?

It is reliable but kind of sketchy to drive in the snow. Its front wheel-drive, so you will experience a lot of understeer.































Try to talk them down to $3850.

Never buy a Toyota with over 25,000 miles on it.

4500 is not a great price for a echo with the mileage. You can find a Camry for that much with that many miles. These cars wont be great for snow because they are front wheel drive and wont get that traction your looking for. If your worried about snow I would consider getting a 4WD truck or a car if you can find one. But the Echos are reliable and should last another 150K with the right maintenance and TLC.
