Default Toyota Corolla turns off straight away after turning on?
Only the past two weeks ive been realising that anytime i leave the car off Toyota Corolla 2000 overnight and the engine cools. The next time i go to turn the car on it turns off after a few seconds later and the only way to turn it on is to use hold the accelerator at the same time until the engine heats up 5mins later. Usually it turns on straight away so am confused as to what could be the problem? If the alternator, fuel pump or distributor need changing??

Sounds like your Idle Air Control (IAC) system is messed up. Or Maybe a temperature sensor is bad (the engine doesnt know that it is cold?). At cold start the engine needs more air/fuel until it warms up. I would think it would have some DTC's and the check engine light on. probaly NOTHING to do with alternator, fuel pump or distributor.

*engine* temp sensor (not rad temp sensor) or cold start injector. wires associated with them or bad ecu.
