Default What's the best Battery for my 2007 Toyota Tacoma?
Can someone recommend a good battery for my 2007 Toyota Tacoma? 6 Cylinder Prerunner - 4 Door without tow package. I took out the factory battery today and it said to replace it with a 27F battery.

Optima batteries are highly-recommended. They have good performance under load and have rolled mat dielectric instead of liquid acid, so you don't need to keep them upright to avoid acid spillage.































I personally use Wal-mart batteries. They're more cost-effective and Wal-mart is very good about honoring their warranties.

Optima batteries are "spiral wound" deep draw batteries that are expensive. they are made by Johnson Controls (USA based). Johnson Controls is largest supplier of batteries in the Americas. JC has Varta in US (formerly a German Company). a brand for Mexico and another for S America. Those are all good conventional flat plate batteries.















Another good "American" battery is Interstate.















avoid Exide and most "house brand" batteries.















Buy battery from a high volume seller so you get a fresh battery. Batteries need to be kept charged and stock rotated.















27 is the group size code the "F" means "Ford" (a hold over from decades ago) and indicates which orientaion the +/- terminals are located. A plain "27" is the same size with terminal locations reversed (thats just so the cables will fit).
