How much would a 1989 Toyota 4runner be worth?

I have a camo 1989 4runner... It's not in the best condition but I'm fixing it up.

Your not providing enough information to give a accurate price. You need to state, miles, 4x4?, automatic/Manual? Does it have AC? Power Windows? What is broken and needs to be fixed?

If it runs decent and is 4x4 it could be worth 1500 to 2000 as older 4-runners are sought after SUVs.

It really depends on condition. It is true that it's sought after, being the last year of the highly-desired first generation. Some really nice original ones go for $7000-10,000 but most of them are in the $2000-5000 range. The camo paint drops the value--they sell for more with original or original-looking paint.

If it has the 4-cylinder, you might be able to ask a little more. The V-6 of those years scares those who know about the head gasket issues, unless you can prove that the gaskets have been replaced under warranty.

Are you sure you want to sell it? Most people who sell a 1st-gen regret it later on.

first off, if this is a two door model, it is extremely rare.

otherwise, it's not *the* sought after runner. it's an IFS model. missed it by one year.

but they are still good trucks.

it is OBD1. so that dictates a more forgiving management system. very capable (in 4x4 config) for an IFS chassis and a great SUV. only surpassed by the Range Rover as it was targeted for direct competition in sales by toyota.

best thing to do is look up local sales listings of like vehicle and condition. DO NOT think KBB is a good guide. if it's even listed. it is a reference for lenders. not "real world" value. save all but the newest vehicles.
