toyota t100 with low miles (43000) that has sat a while, good buy?
Dealership, owner says it was father-in-laws and he knows the truck. He said it sat for a while. Didn't really mention maintenance schedule and I didn't fully ask...He's willing to replace the rusty rocker panels and sell it for about $6000 or $7000. What kinds of problems might arise with a truck like this that has sat out for too long and has possibly been neglected for a few years? I haven't got to look at it yet (its 2 hours away) and he said there's a bit of surface rust on the frame but no holes, its solid. Anything that can be done to stop the rust? or slow it down, like an undercoating? Also, what would be the costs to get the vehicle back into top shape, for instance replacing the tranny seals, fixing the brakes and calipers (maybe myself) and wheel bearings? electrical problems? automatic trans flush and oil change? Rear end problems (leaks and/or seals)? Anything else?
Please advise...
IT'S A 1995 T100. Was in an accident 06/03, spotty carfax (hardly any service records), steering relay rod replaced 2.5 years after accident, carfax shows years when registration was not renewed...
