Why would they, ever since the celica it was selling well and fortunately the last generation used more power with a smaller engine and a cheaper price but it was too light and too small along with the mr2 and echo and it received poor sales for the 2nd most reliable brand (1st was honda). In 2004, the scion brand was introduced with the xa (then replaced by the xd) and boxy twin xb was the replacement for the echo and the tc was the sport coupe that replaced the celica and mr2 which were more powerful and slightly faster and bigger and the old models were still in production for one more year which last year was in 2005 or 2007 in japan and I hate the echo so much that the xa, xb, and xd were better and the celica and mr2 was good but i like the tc better but i was sad when the celica and mr2 went away but i prefer other sport coupes like prelude, rsx, civic si, eclipse, tiburon, and integra but anyway there were may rumors about that for all discontinued like rumors about celica, prelude, pontiac firebird trans am, oldsmobile and a lot of them with fake concept car photos so don't believe in that
