High oil usage corolla 1992. Efi?

Default High oil usage corolla 1992. Efi?
Corolla 1992. 250,000kms. Uses one liter oil per 1000 kms. Car still has plenty of power. No oil leakage. Can i use a heavier oil to slow down usage. From australia.

This car is burning oil. Higher viscosity oil will slow the rate it uses oil but it isn't going to stop it. The car really needs a new engine or a rebuild and given the mileage and age of the car that just isn't going to be a good investment.
