Check engine light, 2001 CameryLE 2.2L 4cyl code P0401, I've changed the EGR vavle....????

I have a 2001 CameryLE, 2.2L 4 cyl. The check engine light is on and the code reads P0401, recirculating exhaust emissions flow insufficient. I've changed the EGR vavle, cleaned the brass (?) line going to the valve from the engine, and replaced the battery. I reset the computor by disconnecting the battery and the light will come back on anywhere from 25 to 40 miles of driving. Anyone know of any other solutions? And has there been a recall with the computor on this model?

I would smoke test the car at a shop through the evap system and see if there are any other leaks in the system. Did you change the gasket with the EGR Valve as well as lines and connectors connected back as well?I beleive there are also the DPFE Sensor as well as another one to replace with the EGR As well. If there is a recall you can call the dealership with your vin and see if you can get the computer fixed for free. But smoke testing the system is where I would start. Hope this Helps ! ! !
