LE, SE, LX, etc. It's a tag to show what specific model of Camry it is. My 2007 Ford Focus had an SES tag because it had the premium features like leather seats, 6 disc changer in the dash with radio. I took the tags off cause they collect dirt and grime around them. Some time later I totaled the car and there was a big dispute with my insurance about what model the car was exactly. The company that provided the GAP Insurance called the Ford factory where it was made and by simply looking up the VIN they could tell it was an SES. Yet when the auto insurance company tried to find out they said it couldn't find such information via the VIN. Finally they paid it off in full and it was over
My next car that I got was a 2007 Dodge Caliber R/T. I thought about taking those tags off too. But later decided not to because it had MANY premium features and by leaving the tags on it is proof of what model it is. I did end up getting rid of the Caliber because I could no longer afford the insurance and payment.
Bought a 1996 Ford Escort LX for $1,250 cash. I took the tags off the back cause it is legally my car and plan on keeping it a very long time. Because the car is so old and has little value left, if it does get totaled there won't be much of a payout anyway.
